Katherine "Tiny" Lopez Born March 19, 1928 And lived life until December 31, 2011
"She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff" Proverbs 31:19
Through the eyes of her children: Dani Dee, Paulino Ramos Miguel Jr. (Haroldean), Lydia Daniels; Josephine Nobriga (Johnny), Jane Kaui (Richard), Joyce Pascua (Edwin), Joseph Lopez Jr. (Yolanda), Steven Lopez Vicki).
Our mom was tenacious with all of us. She was compassionate yet stern, so loving and straightforward. She did not mince her words - she gave us her opinions whether you asked for it or not. But, she did it because she loved us. And as with most families, we didn't always appreciate her straightforwardness. She was consistent; she was the stability in our lives. Even as adults, all her traits were the same...and she did it with respect and never talked down to any of us. This stability that mom provided us extended out to our children and our children's children. Even as we were growing up, mom showed these same traits with her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and in-laws. She taught us respect by living respectful. As we became adults, we were able to laugh more with her, at her and ourselves...her sense of humor was natural and would certainly catch you off guard. Her attitude in all her ups and downs in life was admirable by all that came in contact with her.
Mom touched the hearts and lives of so many people. Most of the people would have this to say about her...she never complained, and that when she set her mind on something, there weren't too many times that that would change....yes, she could be very stubborn. Each and everyone of us, her children, can say, that mom was always there for us, always.
Mom was first married to Paulino Ramos Miguel, Sr., on April 22, 1947 until December 6th, 1955. She married Joseph Lopez, Sr., September 15th, 1956, until he preceded her in death on November 26, 2007. Besides being survived by her children and her sons and daughter in-laws, she is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mom throughout her years amassed friends that touched her heart as well as her theirs....We can only hope that we can make differences in the lives of the people that we come into contact with as Mom did.
