Celebrating the Life of Edward Lau Sheu Chun, age 90, born on May 23, 1923 in Honolulu, Hawaii; where he lived until January 3, 2014. His parents were Lau Sing Chun and See Kim Mau. He was the 2nd out of six children. He attended Farrington High School. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1983. He was married to Louise Chang on January 14th. He was a member the Masonic Lodge Le Progres de I’Oceanie and past Master (1965) of the former Waikiki Lodge No. 774. He was also a member of several Chinese Societies including See Dai Doo and Chee Kung Tong. During retirement, he kept active with classes, volunteering and traveling. With his love and knowledge of China, he escorted travel groups to China, Tibet and Mongolia. His most important events in his life were spending time with his then wife, Louise, and finding his paternal grandfather in China, attending family parties, learning new things, new adventures and meeting new friends. Edward loved to listen to all types of music from Hawaiian to Opera, loved traveling, and Masonic Lodge activities. He was a very happy, positive, caring, generous and friendly person. He was a "very social butterfly." He is survived by his sisters, Betty Yuen and Florence Keopuhiwa, nieces and nephews. His visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (1317 Queen Emma Street in Honolulu). Memorial services to begin at 4:00 p.m. with reception to follow. Private inurnment at Valley of The Temples Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire to be worn and no flowers.
