Marcelo “Celo” Tubana Bermudes, 74, of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his residence in Waipahu. He was born on November 17, 1940 in Abra, Philippines to Mauricio Tejero Bermudes and Elena Coloma Tubana where he lived til he moved to O‘ahu in 1969. He was the second of four children. He was a drywall taper in the construction industry for about 10 years. He lived in Kalihi and Waipahu and was married to Maria Villanueva Bermudes on January 7, 1973 in the Philippines. His special friends were his swap meet buddies, and former co-workers. The important events in his life was becoming a father, husband, a United States Citizen, and a homeowner. He was a reliable, patient, loving, hardworking, skillful, and humble person. He enjoyed watching boxing and UFC, going to the swap meet looking for tools, doing DIY projects, spending time with his family, and going to Burger King and McDonald’s. He is survived by wife, Maria Villanueva Bermudes; sons, Marlon (Marjoree) and Willie Bermudes; daughter, Maricelle (Julio) Bermudes-Ancheta; four grandchildren, Maelyn Bermudes, Marlon Bermudes Jr., Malayna Bermudes and “baby” Ancheta. He is preceded in death by parents, Elena Coloma Tubana and Mauricio Tejero Bermudes. Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; Service: 10:30 a.m., with a burial to follow, 1:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Interment Location: Haven of Peace #1, Lot 147, A-2
