I remember when we threw your mom a baby shower at Ala Moana Beach Park in 1996 — it was so much fun, and your mom was glowing, surrounded by friends who loved her. Shortly after, you were born. I still remember waiting in the hospital waiting room, anxious and excited for your arrival, along with your grandparents and aunties.
Your mom had such a tough pregnancy — always sick — but the day you arrived was one of the most blessed days ever. We were all so young then, watching you grow up and taking you all over the island whenever and wherever we could. You spent so much time with your grandparents, who adored you deeply. I miss them so much, too. Did you know my daughter learned sign language because of your grandma?
You were loved by everyone, Puni. Those early years when you were a baby are the ones I hold closest to my heart. Watching you grow into a handsome young man and father was a gift. You are missed more than words can say.
Your aunty forever,
Jam
