On behalf of my mother Leonora Urbano and I, I want to share our deepest condolences to the family. My mom worked for doctor Libao and Mrs.Libao in Guam for many years. As a nurse from the PI, my mother was given her first job on US soil by the Libao’s at good samaritan clinic. This set in motion the foundations of our family and we are forever grateful fornthat chance. I fondly remeber being a kid and being at the clinic everyday. Mrs. Libao was very kind to me. She bought me my first bible and enscribed in it “remeber me when you make your first million”. I still remember that to this day. She always had a way to make me smile. My mother looked up to Mrs.Libao as a mentor and an idol. She had a profound impact on both of us.

Aunty likes to send messages in Facebook about health and events but one day she sent me this joke. Lol. She’s always happy and excited. I never saw her sad and downcast. I remember after I was invited to a family dinner out at Tanaka of Tokyo, Lola saw the shoes I was wearing and liked them so much she wanted to stop walking and switch shoes so she could try them on. I thought that was so cute and funny. Every time I saw her, she was always so friendly and welcoming to me, and I’ll always appreciate the kindness she showed me.
Ate Carmelita to me is one of the most elegantly dressed women, I've ever met. She carries herself with stunning elegance and mahinhin. I have always admired the way she is dressed. I met Ate Lita through church fellowship. She always has the most beautiful smiles and positive things to say not only to me, but with others. Her smiles radiate through the room. One thing I'll never forget is her finger licking good Brazos de Mercedez, which she makes to perfection. She would often bring to church . . . . only for me. She would deliver it directly to my office and witness my delight in accepting her gift. Then she would often joke and say, "Sorry, Pastor Melle, I know you are trying to lose weight, but I know this is your favorite ....". She is so thoughtful.
A few years back, they visited our church and said, she has been praying for a church home and find herself and Doc at our church. They continued to attend the church until; Doc could not drive anymore. She didn't want to drive his car, so they would rather stay home. I understood, but we continue to keep in touch.
Just last year, she called me with an issue that they were going through. She was so shaken by it that I was alarmed when she said, "we will never go to church again. Church people supposed to love one another." I agreed with her and encouraged her to continue. I told her to not ever let anyone "stop you from seeking God." She happily shared later, that all was well. Praise the Lord! I am glad that we continued to keep in touch. The last time I saw Ate Lita's bright and beautiful smile was at our wedding in March. She sent me a note that says, "Pastor Melle, Doc and I will not miss your wedding, we will be there to witness your beautiful day." And she would not leave unless we took pictures.
Saddened that another warrior has gone home to be with the Lord, but I know we will meet again. We will miss you very much ate Lita, but I am sure you will live on in my memory as well as many others. We will always remember the great contributions you made in our lives and at LotWM Ohana. We love you and Doc very much. Say hello to Pastor Eddie and Krissy for me. I know they were there to welcome you. Until we meet again.....

I don’t have a lot of memories with Aunty Carmeling, but the ones that I do have will forever be held close to my heart. The last time I spoke to her was on Mother’s Day, and I did not know that it would be our last time talking. Every time we were together, Aunty Carmeling showed her love through her words of wisdom and she would always remind us to keep our faith in the Lord. Aunty Carmeling was known for being kind and compassionate to everyone, most especially to my dad Ruben (Pedro) Reyes, to whom she was very close to. During my dad’s final moments in the Philippines, Aunty Carmeling was there for him via a phone call from Hawaii. She comforted and prayed over him during that call. This instance was one of many that showed the caring character of Aunty Carmeling. I want to share another precious memory through this photo with Aunty Carmeling from my daughter’s (Angelli’s) high school graduation party three years ago. Aunty we love you and we will truly miss you. May you rest in peace at home in Heaven.

Mrs. Libao was my “other mother” when I was in school with Jose and Kathy. I loved in her cooking and she always made me feel welcome. May God bless and comfort Dr. Libao and the whole family.
