Obituary for Cipriana Uclos Luczon
Cipriana Uclos Luczon passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. at Queen’s Medical Hospital, surrounded by the love and memories of her family. She was 96 years old.
Cipriana was born on October 2, 1929, in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She later built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and generosity. She was married to the late Clemente Luczon Sr., and together they raised a loving family.
She is survived by her daughter, Edna, and sons Clemente Jr., Xavier, and Jerry. She was also a proud grandmother to Montana, Destinee, Chad, Cheyne, Christian, Gabriel, Cadence, and Kynzi.
Cipriana worked as a seamstress for a local aloha wear company and also worked at the Amfac Building and Star Market. In addition, she served as a care home operator and was known for her hardworking spirit and strong sense of responsibility. Through determination and wise financial decisions, she owned several homes and rented them out, always striving to provide stability and security for her family.
A devoted Catholic, Cipriana faithfully attended church seven days a week at Our Lady of the Mount Church. She especially loved participating in Misa de Gallo celebrations, where she became affectionately known as the “Arroz Caldo Lady” because she would lovingly prepare and share her famous arroz caldo with fellow church members and friends.
She also enjoyed cooking many beloved Filipino dishes, including sinuman, pancit, miki, and lumpia. Her cooking brought comfort, warmth, and togetherness to everyone around her.
Cipriana was known for being stern and strict, always making sure her children completed their chores, came home on time, and stayed disciplined. She believed strongly in hard work, responsibility, and saving money. While she could be tough, it always came from a place of love and care. She made sure her family always had food on the table and taught them the importance of being smart with money. She was known for her sharp bargaining skills, generous heart, and unforgettable “boss lady” energy that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Her strength, faith, generosity, and love for family will forever be remembered and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
May she rest in peace.
