Cleotilde R. Ganir's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Cleotilde Romero Ganir, age 80, who passed away in Waipahu, Hawaii on January 25, 2014. She was born on May 31, 1933 in Barangay 1, San Joaquin, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Zoilo Balisacan Romero and Gertrudes Calantoc Garcia. Cleotilde was the 2nd out of six children. She attended Sarrat, Ilocos Norte School. She was a homemaker and was formerly married to Dionisio Ganir.
Cleotilde was a friendly, "naanos", "nadongngo" and strict woman whose favorite past times included shopping, going to the Swap Meet, spending time with her friends and going to her friends' houses. She had many friends and would befriend all those she meets wherever she goes. She enjoyed listening to and singing "Dallot Songs." A very important event in her life was the day she arrived in Hawaii from the Philippines.
She is survived by her son, Macario (Marjorie) Ganir; daughters, Charito (Sonny) Ng and Lorenza (Erik) Parel; brothers, Maximo Romero, Mariano (Presentacion) Romero and Jose (Roberta) Romero; sisters, Eufemia Romera (Juan) Atanacio and Rosario Romero Jacinto; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Her visitation will be held 5:30-9:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 9:30-10:15 a.m., at St. Philomena Catholic Church; Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow 12:00 noon at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park
