Ellen Yoshioka's Obituary
Ellen Yoshiye Yoshioka 91, of Kaneohe passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025. She was born on January 23, 1934, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Shozaburo and Itoyo Seki. Ellen graduated from McKinley High School in 1952 and later from Canon’s Business School. Ellen worked as a bookkeeper for Bank of America, Seattle First National, and Value Drug, and later worked as an assistant tax collector for the State Tax Office.
Ellen married Thomas Yoshioka in 1956. They both loved to travel and were able to visit 49 of the 50 states, Canada, Japan, China, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. They also enjoyed retirement by attending activities at the Kaneohe Senior Center and attending UH sports events.
Ellen loved to sing and cook delicious food for family and friends. Ellen will be remembered for her positive attitude, hard work, tenacity, generosity and kind spirit.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Jodi), daughters Donna (Gerald) Young and Gina (Craig) Nakahara, five grandchildren: Courtney, Jennifer, Mia, Reyn, and Taylor, and brother Stanley Seki. Ellen was an amazing mother and grandmother, and her family is eternally grateful for all her love and support.
Private services were held according to Ellen’s wishes.
