Celebrating the Life of Emma Vallesteros Carnate Emma Vallesteros Carnate passed away on April 2, 2019, at the age of 59 . She was born on February 9, 1960, in Bacarra, Illocos Norte, Philippines. Her parents were the late Santos and surviving Francisca Vallesteros. She was the fourth sister of five total siblings. She attended San Agustin Elementary School, Bacarra National Comprehensive High School, and Saint Bernadette College in Manilla, Philippines. She began her freshman year of college, but then soon followed her parents and family when they immigrated to Hawaii in February 1978. She married her love, Leo Carnate, on May 4, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They both settled in Mililani Mauka with their three children: Erwin (born 1981), Louis (born 1986), and Emylanie (born 1991). Emma worked at Aloha Shoyu Company as a Production Supervisor for 37 years. She was a devout member of the Catholic faith, often attending mass and volunteering at St. John Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church in Mililani. Emma always had a contagious smile. She wore her heart on her sleeve and would rush to your aid if you needed help. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones, admiring the gorgeous orchids that her husband would grow, and taking care of her beloved family dog, Mulan. Additionally, Emma often traveled to Las Vegas to spend time with her children. Emma was a proud mother, often pushing her children to pursue higher education and larger roles in life. Her children attribute their accomplishments to their mother’s never-ending love and support. She was always their number one fan. Her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and ability to make you feel special are just a few things that will surely be missed of Emma. She touched many hearts.
