Georgiana Kalanihou Kahalehoe
November 8, 1942 – November 17, 2025
Georgiana Kalanihou Kahalehoe was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. She was the oldest of six children born to George and Ethel Hookano and had three half-siblings from her father’s first marriage.
She was a proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools for Girls, Class of 1960. Georgiana worked for 30 years with the Hawaiian Telephone Company and was also employed at Sears Roebuck, Liholiho Elementary School, and Germaine’s Luau.
Georgiana enjoyed all sports, including volleyball, golfing, swimming, and canoe paddling, and had a deep love for dancing hula, singing, and playing the ʻukulele. She also helped coach girls’ volleyball and would volunteer to help with anything she could. She loved traveling, especially to the “Ninth Island” of Las Vegas.
She was the life of every party and often took center stage, allowing her vibrant presence to shine. She was devoted to her work and cherished her many friends.
Georgiana passed away following complications of dementia and Parkinson’s disease. In accordance with her wishes, a private service was held in December.
Georgiana is survived by her sister, Audrey Kalehuawehe; brothers, Samuel Hookano and Steven Hookano; daughters, Anna Lou K. Kealohi, Eva Marie U. Naganuma, Dorothy Ann L. Caballes, Drucilla Gay M. Andres, and Katherine Joy L. Kent; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
