Gerald "Jerry " Chun's Obituary
Jerry of Honolulu passed away February 21, 2019 at Hospice Hawaii, Kailua. He withstood many years of Renal failure & myelofibrosis (a rare blood disorder), but in the end went out on his own terms. He is a class ‘57 graduate from St. Louis High School. He worked at Amfac, John Hancock Insurance, Fireman’s Fund Insurance, and was an Independent Insurance Broker with Business Insurance Services Inc. in his later years. Jerry enjoyed adventures—traveling, gym workouts, bowling, golfing, fishing, tennis, racquetball, running, cooking, boating, raising horses, and following UH football, volleyball & basketball. He was loved by many. He is survived by his wife Lin, daughter Gerilin Chun Zwicky (David), grandsons Dawson and Davis, brothers Wilfred and Wesley, as well as many close cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Garrett Pono, mother Esther, father Kenneth, & brother Donald. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Queen Emma St., Sunday, March 17, at 4:30 pm. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service.
