Harriett Vaimoana Lakatani Taito's Obituary
Harriett Vaimoana Lakatani Taito, 54, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on June 22, 1963 in Fagaalu, American Samoa. She is the eldest of 5. She was married to Karauna Taito and went to Laie Elementary, Kahuku Intermediate but then transferred to King Intermediate through James B Castle High School in Kaneohe until 10 grade. She then moved to American Samoa to take care of grandma Hiki Loto Masini. She graduated in 1981 from Samaona High in American Samoa with full scholarship to attend American Samoa Community College and graduated with her AA Degree. She then went to UH to Major in Education. She worked at Outrigger Hotels Reservation and a Social Worker for Disability.
She is survived by mother, Helen Rodriguez; brothers, Jackson Lakatani, Marvin Lakatani, Stanley (Miko) Lakatani; and sister, Ijeva Lakatani Matavale. She was preceded in death by her father, Moheni Lakatani.
Services for Harriett will be held at LDS Kaneohe beginning at 10 am. Burial to follow at Valley of the Temples starting at 2 pm.
