Irene Yanagihara's Obituary
Irene Ruriko Yanagihara 92, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 23, 1933 and died at home on January 1, 2026.
She graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1956 and spent her entire career caring for others as a nurse at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. Irene loved playing tennis with the Tennis Gang at the Kaneohe District Park. She is survived by four children, Gregg, Vance and Keith Yanagihara and daughter, Joy Higa and six grandchildren. Mass services will be held at St. Ann Church in Kaneohe on Monday, February 23, 2026. Visitation to start at 11am, Mass to begin at 12:30 and burial to follow at 2pm at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
