Isaias E. Endrina's Obituary
Mr. Isaias Espiritu Endrina of Kapolei, Hawaii passed away on Friday, May13, 2016, at the age of 85. Born in Manila, Philippines on May 1, 1931; he came to Hawaii in the late 70’s where he lived since.
Mr. Endrina retired from the City and County of Honolulu (1984 – 1999), Department of Environmental Services, Wastewater Management - Sand Island Division. He was a meticulous engineer, respected for his skills and intelligence by his co-workers, friends, and family. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (1958) at Mapúa Institute of Technology (Manila, Philippines) and his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at FEATI University (Manila, Philippines). He was licensed both as Electrical Engineer and Electronics and Communications Engineer; a member of the Philippine Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. His professional engineering career started at the (Philippines) Bureau of Telecommunications where he was employed right after college. He subsequently worked at ITT Globe-Mackay Cable and Radio Corp (1966) as Telecommunications Engineer; and in 1968, started a long and well-respected career as Telecommunication Installation Engineer at Philips Industrial Development, Inc. of Netherlands (Philippine Office) where he met colleagues who became life long friends. He was equally proud of ISEN Electrical, an installation and troubleshooting consulting business he established with several contracted projects in major developments in Manila.
Mr. Endrina loved music and had a good singing voice. He was also a skilled calligrapher and technical drafter. Upon retirement, he spent most of his time gardening, reading, solving word puzzles, listening to music and his favorite past time -- tinkering in his garage with his electronic instruments.
He is survived by his children: Edgardo T. Endrina, Elenita T. Endrina Rudholm (Gary G. Rudholm), Elmer T. Endrina (Bernadette Cablay), Evangeline T. Endrina, Ernesto T. Endrina and Ma. Carmen T. Endrina; his eight grandchildren: Tristanne Endrina, Vanessa Antonio, Kragen Endrina, Kenzie Endrina, Janolan Endrina, Jarren Endrina, Ian Endrina and Hanson Endrina; his nieces and nephews: Amelia (Juanito) Paderes, Jovita Endrina, Saturnino (Leonora) Endrina, Yolanda Endrina, Violeta Endrina, Victoria De Jose (Arturo De Jose, Jr.) and Ma. Espie Endrina.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Conrada Tolentino Endrina, who passed away in 2006. His (deceased) parents were Pablo Endrina and Carmen Espiritu.
Celebration of Life service for Mr. Endrina will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Mystical Rose Oratory at Chaminade University (located at 3140 Waialae Avenue Honolulu, Hawaii 96816). Friends and colleagues are welcome to join the family from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.; Eulogy to begin at 6:00 p.m., with a Mass to follow.
Mr. Endrina’s graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
