Karen Aina Tamaoka's Obituary
Karen Aina Tamaoka, 66, of Honolulu, Hawai’i passed away February 19, 2019. She was born the third of three children to the late Douglas Paul Aina and Beatrice See Chun Aina on August 24, 1952 in Honolulu. Karen graduated from McKinley High School and Heald Business College with an Associate’s in Business. After graduating, Karen worked as a Civil Service Employee with the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor Shipyard. She retired in 2009 after 34 years in her career.
Karen is predeceased by her husband, Russell Tamaoka, whom she married on June 25, 1977 at the Malia Puka Okalani Church in Hilo, Hawai’i. She is survived by her daughter Liane T. Forsythe, her sons Patrick D. Tamaoka and Christopher R. Tamaoka-Mitchell, her three grandchildren: Kiana Makenzie Fusae Fittro, Bran Shinichi Tamaoka & Arya Miwa Tamaoka, and her two sisters Marvilyn Aina Williams & Kathleen Aina King.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Diamond Head Mortuary on Thursday March 14, 2019. Visiting at 10:30 am, service at 11:00 am and burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Valley of the Temples.
