Lilia Hermosura Padua's Obituary
Lilia Hermosura Padua, 76, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away on April 1, 2018 at Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea, Hawaii. She was born in Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on August 9, 1941 to Gregorio and Honorata Hermosura. She is a graduate from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines with a Bachelor of Elementary Education.
Lilia had a green thumb and could often be found in her garden tending to a large array of beautiful orchids, succulent fruit trees, herbs, and other edible plants. She found especially great joy in the company of her grandchildren which she spoke fondly of to everyone she knew. She had a good sense of humor and loved all of her children unconditionally. Her caring nature carried on into her professional life as a Schoolteacher at the beginning of her career to a Healthcare Provider at Waimano Home until her retirement from the State of Hawaii, Department of Health in 2002.
Lilia was married to the late, Teodoro Padua for 34 years until he passed away in 2001. They built a family while living in the Philippines, Taiwan, and Hawaii. She is survived by her six children: Leilani Padua, Greg Padua, Theodore (Jennifer) Padua, John Paul (Podjanee) Padua, Hanna-Li Honorata (Christian) Newkirk, Diana Josephine (Kent) Do; and nine grandchildren: Regina, Alisara, Matthew, Chloe Faith, Kila, Quinn Tyler, Annalise Paige, Kai and Keane.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Pali Momi Medical Center for their care and support in her final days. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Valley of the Temples Chapel. Visitation 10:00 a.m., Service 11:00 a.m., Burial 12:00 p.m. – Noon at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, Oceanview Garden.
