Lorraine "Raine" Vicente's Obituary
Ranie was born on August 3, 1936 in Hilo Hawaii to parents Joseph Vicente, Sr. and Mary Soares.
As a young child Ranie along with her sister Betty and brother Joe were relocated to California with their dad, Joseph Sr. As a young woman Ranie worked for United Airlines as a reservationist until she retired.
Ranie loved to travel making many trips to and from the islands to be with family and friends. She traveled with her beloved partner Tex Lyles, Julia "Madringya" Bugado, friends Rene Mota and Frannie Savory, cousins David and Lee Gomes and many others. Her travels took her to all parts of the world. Ranie remembered all the details of her many trips and left lasting memories with those she met, even little children and nuns in Nicaragua where she and Tex went to help the orphaned children, an act of generosity and sharing that is beyond belief.
Ranie was a true social butterfly, loving and sharing her knowledge and experiences. She left an impression with everyone she met. She was a tiny lady with a great big heart of gold.
Ranie went home to the Lord on March 2, 2025 at the age of 88. She is survived by her partner Ella "Tex" Lyles, sister Carol Ast, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
