"Let's eat!"
From the lush landscapes of the Philippines to the tranquil shores of Honolulu, Hawaii, Marlo Ocreto navigated life with a humble heart and a generous spirit. He found profound joy in the simple moments that stitched together the rich fabric of his days.
Marlo’s dedication was evident in his pursuits. He earned a Bachelor's in Software Engineering & Computer Science from Coleman University in 2001, a testament to his hardworking and patient nature. These qualities extended to his professional life, where he became a driver's education instructor, patiently guiding countless students.
With a book in hand, a meal to share, or a new horizon to explore, Marlo embraced the world with open arms. His love for reading, cooking, storytelling, and travel were more than hobbies; they were vibrant extensions of his kind and inquisitive soul.
Many cherished memories revolve around Marlo's adventures, particularly during boat cruises with his beloved wife and friends. He made it a point to capture a moment on every deck, each photograph a testament to his deep appreciation for life's voyage. Family vacations and these shared adventures were treasures he held dear, moments where his kindness, patience, and generosity shone brightest.
Marlo’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by his devoted spouse, Nilda I. Ocreto; daughters, Aimee Lou (Queenie) Ocreto, Margarrette (Megan) Ocreto, Lory Jane Soteras, Natasha Doane; sons, Devin Ignacio, Jordan Cabato and his eight grandchildren. His family was truly the anchor of his life, the harbor where his humble and hardworking spirit found its greatest purpose.
As we reflect on Marlo’s journey, we recall a man whose simple invitation, "Let's eat!", was far more than a call to dine—it was a reflection of his innate desire to gather, to share, and to connect. His life serves as a beautiful reminder that generosity and patience are the quiet strengths that leave an enduring impact.
In the gentle embrace of memory, we bid farewell to Marlo, eternally grateful for the warmth he brought into our lives and the simple joys he so deeply cherished.
