Martha “Maka” Kahailani Kaina-Kaho‘opi‘i was born on October 20, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was born to Maile Debra (Howland) and Harvey Arthur Fung.
Martha passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu. Martha was 54 years old, she was a self-employed Massage Therapist.
Martha is survived by her husband of 21 years, Matthew M. Kaho‘opi‘i; mother, Maile D. Fung; father-in-law, Albert Kaho‘opi‘i, Sr.; mother-in-law, Nalani Kaina; sons, Joshua Kaina, Brysen (Janna) Kaina, Steven (Joy) Kaina, Jr.; step-daughters, Melissa Kaho‘opi‘i and Misty Ann Kaho‘opi‘i (Shaun Pang); seven grandchildren, Mia Kaina, Hunter Kaina, Brittany Shimono, Moses Emiliano, Keoni Emiliano, Makai Pang, Mahealani Pang and Maile Pang; brothers, Lester (Mona) Fung and Harvey (Raemi) Fung; sisters, Rose Ann Fung, Doreen (Oliver) Kupau and Catherine (Wayne) Nakamura; nieces and nephews, Homelani, Leilani, Tiffany, Maile, Kehau, Harvey, Jade, Heather, Amber, Jenyssa, Chalia Tanya, Sharmari, Kalena, Nani, Kolu, Keola, Kawika and Ola
Funeral service for Martha will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m., evening service to begin at 6:30 p.m.,
Additional visitation to be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., service to begin at 10:00 a.m., burial to follow 1:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Memories location.
