Milton M. Aiu
“Uncle Butch”
73, Retired Honolulu Firefighter, Station 30 Moanalua.
Raised in Kaneohe and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools class of 1964. Passed away peacefully on April 24, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Youngest of 3 sons to Robert L. and Johanna Maile Aiu. He was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Herbert Aiu.
Uncle Butch lived life to the fullest by working hard and playing hard. Loved by many, he was always available to share his advice on life. Uncle Butch always made time for family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to make you laugh, sing or dance to a song, or have a few cold beers. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with close friends and also maintained his classic red jeep.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, his family meant everything to him. Survived by his beloved wife Carolyn; son Kekoa (Kim) Aiu; former wife Bernadette Nii; Stepchildren Henry (Penny) Ornellas, Wendy Lau, Myles (Candyce) Ornellas; eldest brother Robert “Bobby” L. (Shirley) Aiu. 3 Grandchildren, 7 Step-grandchildren, and 2 Step great grandchildren.
Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, May 18th at Valley of the Temples, Kaneohe. Visitation will begin at 5:30pm with services to follow at 6:30pm. No flowers, ashes to be scattered at a later date.
