Celebrating the Life of Nam Wah Chan
May 2nd, 1929 – August 1st, 2025
We gather to celebrate the beautiful life of Nam Wah Chan, born May 2nd, 1929 in Canton, China, and who passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2025 in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 96.
Known for being kind, supportive, and hardworking, Mr. Chan showed those qualities every day—most recently when he began a new chapter as a butcher at Safeway. Friends, coworkers, and customers quickly noticed the care he put into his work and the warm encouragement he offered to everyone around him.
Family meant everything to Mr. Chan. He is lovingly remembered by:
- His son Joseph Chan and daughter-in-law Jeniver Yeung
- His daughter Rose Swick and son-in-law Tom Swick
- His grandchildren Cameron, Alison, and Katelyn Swick
- His mother Yuk Lin Chan
He was preceded in death by his father, Kui Ching Chan.
Mr. Chan’s steady spirit and genuine kindness will continue to inspire everyone who knew him. As we honor his life, we hold close the simple lesson he lived each day: work hard, care deeply, and always be ready to lend a hand.
With smiles and gratitude, we celebrate a life well-lived.
Graveside service to be held on August 12, 2025 at 9:30am at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
