For all of Neils family,
My thoughts and prayers to all of you. I had the great pleasure of getting to know Neil for about 8 months while he was working with me on the big island; we shared an apartment together. During that time he became more like my own family to me than just a friend.
Martin, Unhee, you raised an amazing son that I'm sure you were both proud of. He was mature beyond his years, but still had enough kid left in him to be one of the funnest people I have known in my life. His sense of humor never ceased to get the whole team laughing, yet at the same time he was always reliable and hard working.
My heart goes out to all of you. I know my own grief over this must pale in comparison to all of yours, but so you know the kind of impact he had on people's lives, know that the day I learned of his death that my own world got a little more grey. I pray for your strength during this season of pain in your lives. Know that he will always be remembered by many whose lives he touched, and those memories cherished the rest of our days. I wish I could have been there to help send him off with you, and am sorry that I could not.
Best Regards
Clay
