PINERA, ROY's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Roy P. Pinera Sr.
June 14,1954 - September 14, 2025
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Roy Patoc Pinera Sr.,
peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 14, 1954, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Guilermo Pinera of Brgy. 32-B La Paz, Laoag
City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Roy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and music.
Throughout his life, Roy was a hard worker. First at Rubber World, a shoe factory in Novaliches,
Manila, and later as a fisherman in Ilocos Norte. But through and beyond his work, Roy was
known for his joyful spirit and many talents. He loved performing at bars and restaurants,
singing and composing songs for barrio fiestas, and bringing smiles to everyone who listened.
In 1997, Roy and his family began a new journey, migrating to Hawaii on September 17, 1997
by being petitioned by his eldest sister, Rebecca P. Asuncion. Here, he continued to build a
beautiful life surrounded by family and friends. He has worked as a baker at Liliha Bakery, whilst
following Peping and Edmar to help landscape on his day offs. He loved family gatherings,
cooking Filipino dishes, karaoke nights, playing guitar, landscaping his yard, and watching TFC,
as well as The Wheel Of Fortune. His home was always filled with laughter, music, and the
smell of good food; a reflection of the warmth he carried in his heart.
His spirit lives on through his loving wife of 51 years, Teresita Pinera, his daughter Bernadette
Pinera, and his five sons and their spouses: Roy Jr. and Ruemy, Jefferson and Melanie, Herbert
and Sylvia, Jordan and Elsa, & Roldan and Mailyn. From this, his story continues through his 11
grandchildren.
Roy’s kindness, humor, and love for life touched everyone who knew him. Though he is no
longer with us, his spirit continued to live on through the music he played, the love he gave, and
the family he built.
He will be deeply missed, with his memory forever in our hearts.
