Severino Luna's Obituary
Severino (Ben) Luna, Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend,
Ben Luna, age 91, of Kaneohe, passed away on September 30, 2025. Born on December 2, 1933, in Pasig, Rizal, in the Philippines, Ben lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion, and a quirky and hilarious sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Evelyn (Belen) whose love and partnership were the foundation of a beautiful life together. Ben was a proud and devoted father to John, Terry, Ren, and Tony, each of whom carries forward his legacy of kindness, resilience, and a knack for doing things the right way—Ben’s way.
Ben had a passion for the simple joys of life. He was a gifted cook who could turn a humble meal into a feast, and he found peace in his garden, where he coaxed life from the soil with patience and pride. But perhaps nothing brought him more satisfaction than cutting down trees—yes, trees. Give Ben a saw and a Saturday afternoon, and he was in his element. It wasn’t just about the wood—it was about the challenge, the precision, and the unmistakable grin on his face when the tree finally came down just right.
He also loved bowling, and his league nights were sacred. Whether he was rolling strikes or just enjoying the camaraderie, Ben brought warmth and wit to every frame.
Ben’s presence was steady and comforting. He didn’t need to say much to make an impact—his actions spoke volumes. He was the kind of man who showed up, worked hard, lent a hand, and made you feel like everything was going to be okay.
