Stanley D. Olson's Obituary
We are celebrating the life of Stanley D. Olson, 63. He was born in Manchester, Tennessee.
He lived in the Chicago area most of his life, until he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 2010, where he passed to be with the Lord in 2015.
Stan worked in the chemical industry in Chicago, retiring from Kinder Morgan. When he moved to Honolulu, he earned his ARM (Accredited Resident Manager) and worked as resident manager for Lakeview Plaza and later for Canal House.
Stan spent most of his life serving his Lord and Savior in several capacities through local
churches. He was an AWANA Club leader for 25 years. He was involved with the Old Firehouse Community Center in Gary, Indiana for 9 years. During this time, he earned his black belt in Hapkido and became proficient in weaponry, especially enjoying the double swords.
His family was blessed by him leading them in worship in their home church for 20 years, and supervising the education of their 5 children for 23 years in their home school.
Stan is preceded in death by his mother, Margie Nowicki; his father, Delmar Nowicki; sister,
Rachel Holiday; and sister, Patricia Franklin.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Hill); sons, Steven (Brianda), Daniel (Sandra), John, Matthew; daughter, Deborah Anne Irvin (Alex); grandchildren, Michelle and Isabella Olson;
sisters, Cathy (Aage) Christensen, and Linda (John) Ward.
Funeral/Memorial services will be held at Diamond Head Mortuary, Honolulu, on Saturday,
June 6. Visitation begins at 9:00am, with services beginning at 10:00. The graveside service
is to be held at the Valley of the Temples for family only in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
