Thelma Takeko Kami, 78, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2019 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Thelma was born on March 21, 1940 to Moka Miyamoto and Zensaku Ogata in Paauilo, Hawaii. She became an office clerk for Daiei to support her family. Thelma is survived by her husband, Lawrence Kami; her children, Terrilyn Kami-Badua, Stacey (Rodney) Kami-Sugai, and Raelyn (Michael) Brett; her sisters, Haruko Takahashi, Chiyono Yuuki, and Yukiko Jandoc. Thelma is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Isaiah Badua, Mahealani Badua, Ilisha Badua, Isaac Badua, Rychelle Kami-Sugai, Kaela Kami-Sugai, Kara Kami-Sugai, Anthony Brett and Jake Brett. For those who would like to support the family during this difficult time, Thelma’s Memorial Services will be held on Saturday June 8, 2019 at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 9:30am, and the Memorial Service will begin at 10:00am.
