Vaimoana Ilima Evenson Sevelo's Obituary
Vaimoana Ilima Evenson Sevelo, 42, of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. She was born on August 12, 1980 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Castle High School in 1999. Ilima was a parishioner of St Augustine by the Sea. She was a member of the choir, participated in youth activities and was a Catechist teacher. Ilima moved to California where she worked as an IT Tech, Call Center Representative, and various Health Care & Admin jobs. In 2012, Ilima completed the Surgical Technician Program at Career Colleges of America. She worked a Cedar Sinai Hospital and Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. In 2013, Ilima relocated back to Hawaii to be closer to her parents. In 2019, Ilima received her Associate Degree from Remington College. Ilima was a Medical Assistant for Dr Judy Okimura. She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, snacking and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Her greatest joys were being an aunty and God Mother/Nina. She had an uncanny ability to reach and connect to people in deep and positive way. Ilima was a loving daughter and sister. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ilima is survived by her parents, Soane and Vaimoana Sevelo; her 2 brothers, Maurice (Crystal) Sevelo and Soane (Esperanza) Sevelo; her nieces, Victoria Sevelo and Reina Sevelo; her nephew and God-Son, Tu'itakalafatu Sevelo; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.
Services for Ilima will be held at St Augustine Church on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Valley of the Temples.
