Born on November 16, 1940, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Vena was the cherished daughter of Juan and Bartola Ponce. Raised in the islands she loved so dearly, she dedicated her life to education, service, and the betterment of Hawaii’s youth.
Vena was a beloved and respected high school principal, whose leadership, wisdom, and compassion touched the lives of countless students, teachers, staff members, and families throughout her distinguished career. She firmly believed in the power of education and worked tirelessly to inspire academic excellence, integrity, and personal growth in every student she served. Her influence extended well beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting legacy throughout Hawaii's educational community.
Above all, Vena was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose strength, guidance, and unconditional love were a source of comfort and inspiration to those closest to her. She cherished every opportunity to gather with family and took immense pride in watching future generations grow and flourish.
Vena is survived by her beloved sons, Trent Keahiolalo and Ted Keahiolalo; her 11 cherished grandchildren, 2 treasured great-grandchildren, and 2 beloved great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, perseverance, and dedication.
Vena Jeanne Ponce will be remembered for her warm heart, steadfast leadership, unwavering commitment to education, and deep devotion to her family. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the countless students she inspired, the communities she served, and the generations of family who were blessed by her love.
