Our Story
We've learned a lot about caring for families over the years. We realize that we aren't just caring for a loved one, but the entire family. People come to us during their most difficult times, and we respond with kindness, understanding and expertise. Our goal is to make everyone feel at home as we work with them to create a memorable service in honor of a beautiful life.

Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary’s new home
Valley of the Temples is home to the new Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. The 10,036 sq. ft. facility is a masterpiece of historic preservation and modern state-of-the-art engineering. It incorporates communications, comfort and convenience technology you won't find anywhere else. Now family and friends can celebrate life in one of the most spectacular memorial parks in the world.

240 acres of Zen
Founded in 1963, the spectacular Valley of the Temples Memorial Park boasts 240-acres that attracts thousands of visitors each year with its Zen garden, wild peacocks, meditation pavilion, and Shinji-ike reflection pond teaming with Japanese koi carp.

Official Best Memorial Temple in Hawaii
Valley of the Temples is also home to the magnificent Byodo-In Temple, a cultural landmark that symbolizes Hawaii's rich heritage and historical connection with Japan. The Official Best of America television program awarded the Byodo-In Temple at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, the distinction of Official Best Memorial Temple in Hawaii.

Ryan's desire to stay close to home and work with his community to shine a light during challenging times drives him to ensure that every family is shown compassion and that their loved ones are properly honored and cared for.
"I love being able to work right here in the neighborhood I grew up in," Ryan says. "It's rewarding to actually be helping my neighbors, family and friends. Every time I interact with a family, I am honored to be able to serve them in any way I can."

Jeff has served in the funeral services profession for more than six years, always working to bring out the best in everyone around him while creating a culture of belief in each other and what we can accomplish as a team.
“Our team does not have limits or restrictions to what we can do to ensure a family's needs are met,” Jeff says. “We say 'yes' first and then find a way to make it happen. We encourage complete personalization and customization for every family and we pour our unique gifts and talents into every service."

Sharmaine Mayo
Regional Mortuary Manager
Sharmaine has been in the funeral industry for 25 years. Born and raised on the Windward side of Oahu makes working in Kaneohe at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary and Valley of the Temples Mortuary a little more special. She started her career with the Ordenstein family back in 1994, which set the foundation to serve many families in her community for years to come.
What she loves most about the funeral industry is that everyday we all have a unique opportunity to make a difference in someone's life.

Deborah Kamakana
Family Service Sales Manager
With 18 years of experience, Deborah is a fiercely committed individual, who is passionate about helping families pre-plan their legacy. Based on her integrity and pride for helping others, she has been serving families for almost two decades and has humbly earned an impeccable reputation for outstanding service.

As a sales manager, the foundation of her leadership consists of simple values, serve from the heart, take care of the family, and the rest is bound to follow.
"I am very fortunate to be a part of an elite sales team, who shares the same passion, commitment, and values as I do. We are a unit, whose goals are to take care of the families we encounter as if they were our own. It is our sincere honor to be able to offer our services with the utmost care and compassion."

Cherie Akina
Combo Office Manager
Cherie brings over 20 years of experience to her role at Valley of The Temples, where she manages the administrative team, provides support to the sales team, and works alongside the General Manager on various projects.
What Cherie enjoys most about her role is being able to help members of her community deal with the loss of a loved one.
