October 24, 1962 - November 2, 2017
Annabelle Rapacon Castillo, 55, returned to her heavenly home on November 2, 2017, to be with beloved family members who have gone before her. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, godmother and friend with a firm faith in God. Annabelle was born in Santa Catalina Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Paulino and Enriqueta Castillo on October 24, 1962. Enriqueta and Annabelle moved to Hawaii on July 31, 1966, to be together again with Paulino. She attended Sacred Hearts Academy and graduated in 1980. She went on to earn her Associates Degree from Marymount Palos Verdes. She continued her education at Loyola Marymount and Point Loma Nazarene College and eventually received her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Chaminade University. After working for a few years at Straub and Queen’s Hospital as a physician’s assistant, she started a care home business in 1991 that she successfully operated for 13 years. She closed her care home to partner with and work alongside her mother in her care home business. When her kidneys began to fail, her best friend, Maurya Coito, unselfishly donated one of hers. This precious gift of life was truly a sacrifice and blessing. Annabelle volunteered and served the St. John’s Church community for over 20 years. She helped deliver God’s messages by reading the Word of God as a lector; and helped decorate the church for special celebrations. Her hobbies were gardening, scrapbooking, reading, and photography. She loved to travel and loved her pets. She especially loved to cook delicious dishes for families and friends that came to visit. She will be greatly missed. Annabelle is preceded in death by her father, Paulino. Annabelle is survived by her mother Enriqueta Castillo; sisters Angela (Roger) Partolan; Agnes (David) Johnson; Jocelyn (Eduardo) Munoz; and brother Agustin Castillo; her niece and goddaughter Nicole Partolan; her nephews Noah and Jacob Johnson; Joshua, Derrick, and Tristan Munoz; and Brian Partolan; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life will be on December 30, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Church, 2340 Omilo Lane. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m., and reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will follow at Valley of the Temples at 2:00 p.m.
