Mario Alan Largosa's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Mario Alan Largosa
June 8th, 1955 - May 6th, 2025
On June 8th, 1955, under the stars above Honolulu, Mario Alan Largosa was born. A gifted musician and entertainer, Mario dedicated his life to music, bringing smiles to countless faces with his performances.
"Supah Mario" has toured, recorded, and jammed with many bands and musicians, including Local Anesthesia, Bruddah Waltah & Island Afternoon, Ho'onua, and Fiji. He traveled through the Hawaiian Islands, the United States, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, India, Japan, and Europe, sharing his talent with those willing to listen, sometimes even playing for royalty.
Although Papa Mario loved music very much, he loved his family just as much if not more. He was a proud father of four daughters: Rachael, Sarah, Cassandra, and Joanna Largosa. His joy multiplied with his grandson, Makana Kapika. Together with his daughters and grandson, he forged many happy memories while going to the beach, watching anime, playing board games, and of course, making music. They will continue to remember him fondly for years to come.
He is also remembered by his loving sisters, Susan Losey and Kathy Deery, who shared in his life's journey. Mario was the beloved son of the late Su Reed and is survived by his father Joseph Largosa.
On May 6th, 2025, in his hometown of Honolulu, Mario's vibrant life came to a close. He now joins his late mother Su and brother Michael Reed across the universe. Though he has played his last gig, the music he brought into our lives will play forever in our hearts.
